Daylesford Girls Weekend Away

Organising a trip with the girls is never easy with our conflicting schedules, but the stars aligned making my sisters and I finally able to take our Mum and Grandma away for a weekend away in Daylesford. The trip was well worth the wait and perfectly timed as we were all in need of some R & R.

We stayed at Retreat 34a – a beautiful house perfectly located, furnished and styled. The backyard is set on a state forest and local birds and wildlife can be seen through the floor to ceiling windows throughout the house. The meticulously furnished dining and living is split over two levels, connected by an amazing floating staircase. It is obvious the house has been thoughtfully curated with statement furniture pieces, eye-catching artwork and fantastic amenities.

I’ve always had an eclectic taste, so I loved seeing this style sweep across the house. The house had a warm inviting feel with a definite artistic Melbourne flair with the girls and I walked away with newfound home inspiration to decorate our own homes. Every detail had been thought through even into the heart of the house, the kitchen, which was stocked with plates and utensils as well as delicious treats such as The Fitzroy Naturopath tea and goodies in the fridge on arrival. My favourite detail was the beautiful old fire door setting the scene for the rest of this architecturally designed habitat.

When staying in Daylesford a go-to is visiting local eateries, antique stores and galleries, bush walks and of course the day spas. A few of us girls enjoyed a Wellness massage at Hepburn Bathhouse while the rest of the group went for a dip in their spring pools.

We had a delicious lunch (and dessert) at The Bad Habbit café. Situated inside the Convent Gallery, it was a perfect escape from the rain. We spent an afternoon sipping herbal tea, mocktails and hot chocolates, eating warm pumpkin soup and finished with their famous scones condiments jam and cream. A peruse around the Convent Gallery is not to be missed with a history tour offered before exploring the amazing abode.

With spa days, bush-walks, delicious food and galleries, there’s nothing better than a girl’s trip in Daylesford.

I can’t wait to stay again with our pooches in tow next time!

xx
