Melbourne Fashion Week and the big ‘F’ – Frills, Fringe, Florals, Full sleeves and Full-length fabrics

There’s no denying I’m a lover of all things Melbourne and fashion, so when MFW finally arrived no one could stop me running through those doors!

Held at Melbourne Town Hall, MFW put on the works with a Mecca Arcade Claw Machine full of makeup goodies to score, photobooths and live music.

Inside, the hall was beautifully decorated with draping flowers and foliage as well as a huge floral centrepiece at the end of the runway.

As for the clothes, the big ‘F’ dominated; frills, fringe, florals, full sleeves and full-length fabrics – staples across many of the designer’s ranges.

There was also no denying the 80’s influence in a lot of the pieces with huge shoulders, satin materials and sexy power suits.

So here’s my wish list from the night:

Carla Zampatti 80’s red power suit and fringe bag – way to make a statement!

Rachel Gilbert Alvida Gown in Ivory – floor length, flowy and floral perfection.

Rebecca Vallance Bella Knit – adorned with stunning full sleeves and the matching skirt is perfection.

Alicia Dash earrings paired with a Reny Kestel headpiece – a match made in heaven!

Now we’re ready to rock into spring!

xx
